The Hollygreen Practice merged with it’s practice at the Great Houghton Medical Centre on 21 July 2015. Therefore all patients now have access to appointments at either the Goldthorpe, Thurnscoe or Great Houghton Medical Centre.

Please note that with effect from Saturday 26 December 2015 the practice will no longer be open on a Saturday morning.

The Hollygreen Practice has surgeries at Great Houghton and in the Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe Centres.

The practice can be contacted on 01709 886490 for either Goldthorpe or Thurnscoe and 01226 273888 for Great Houghton.

The clinical team comprises 7 Doctors, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 5 Practice Nurses and 3 Healthcare Assistants.

The other surgery staff includes a Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Secretaries and Receptionists.

Our goal is to provide a first class service for patients.

We use text messaging to remind our patients of their appointments. However if you wish to opt out of receiving text messages please contact reception.

OUR PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT NETWORK (OPEN) MEMBERSHIP

Below is a message form Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) regarding OPEN Membership.

The Public and Patient Engagement Team (PPE) of Barnsley CCG are ensuring public and patient engagement is at the heart of its activities, and should be embedded within the culture of the NHS Barnsley and views of all patients, members of the public and service users are equally valued.

By becoming an ‘OPEN Member’ you will have the opportunity to make a difference to local health services and have a voice in the planning of local services. Within the Scheme three levels of membership have been developed depending on how involved you would like to be. These are:

Level 1 – Receive regular Newsletters from NHS Barnsley CCG
Level 2 – as Level 1 but happy to be asked for your views and opinions on local health services via surveys
Level 3 – As Levels 1 and 2 above but would like to be invited to be involved in discussions around a chosen area of interest

For more information on ‘OPEN’ please visit www.barnsleyccg.nhs.uk.

Patients should be aware that from 1 April 2015 all patients now have a named GP who will have overall responsibilty for their care and support provided by the surgery.  To find out your named GP you can contact the surgery.  However whilst your named GP will have overall responsibility for your care and support this does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do
